My Voice

Lizzo, Singer and Activist

“When I just decided to let my body do what it wanted to do and focus on what's important to me, I realized that I liked what I saw.”

Lizzo

Inspires Us

She’s got us feeling “Good As Hell” with her body-positive jams. Tagged as a body-positive feminist by the media, Lizzo's star has been rising since her 2013 debut, Lizzobangers, a catchy hip-hop album made in collaboration with producers Lazerbeak and Ryan Olson. Born in Detroit and raised in Houston, she came up through the Minneapolis music scene, independently releasing another album, Big Grrrl Small World and appearing on Prince's Plectrumelectrum before and relocating to Los Angeles in 2016 ahead of her first major-label outing, Coconut Oil, which arrived last October via Atlantic Records.

“Self-love is really the root of it. You want to love yourself through the images you see.”

Ashlee Haze

She’s a spoken word artist with major substance whose words have caught our attention…and the attention of major girl-power celeb Missy Elliot. Ashlee Haze is a poet and spoken word artist from Atlanta by way of Chicago. Earning the nickname “Big 30" because of her consistency in getting a perfect score, she is one of the most auspicious poets in the sport of poetry slam. She has been a part of the Atlanta Poetry circuit for over a decade and has been writing over 15 years. She has performed everywhere from small coffee shops to the Apollo Theater.

My Moves

Pretty BIG Movement, Dance Team

“It becomes very discouraging when you want to take on the role of being a dancer and you're not the carbon copy body type as a dancer. We need to see more images of the everyday woman. And that's what Pretty BIG Movement is.”

Pretty BIG Movement

Inspires Us

They’re a dance company who are destroying dancer stereotypes, truly demonstrating what #ThisBody is made of. Pretty BIG Movement LLC, based in NYC, is a full figured dance company specializing in various dance genres such as Hip-Hop, Jazz, Ethnic and more. Founded by Akira Armstrong, the dance company shot to fame after competing on the NBC Show America’s Got Talent, season 10. “It’s about uplifting and empowering women,” she said, “to feel like they can be confident to do anything, not just dance.”

To the women who inspire us every day. To the women you inspire. To all the bad-ass women out there… we see you. And we’re taking over the world together.

I can do anything. Anything. Sometimes it’s hard to believe it. Feel it. Live it. Own it. Sometimes I have to say it twice. But, trust me ladies, it’s true. Inspiration is all around.

It’s the rule breakers. The trail blazers. The women who break the mold. They inspire me to dream it. Sing it. Love it. Live it.

I can do what I want. Say what I want. Wear what I want. Because #ThisBody is inspired. So go on with your bad self.
